What it costs, how graduates fare

First-year attrition2024-25

20.0% of the first-year class · 5 students

No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

  • Personal statementOptional · 2 pgstart by Jul 10, 2027

The personal statement is an opportunity to provide the admissions committee with additional information regarding your background, experiences, and interests.

    Notes & source

THE PERSONAL STATEMENT IS OPTIONAL AT FARNAN, AND SO IS ALMOST EVERYTHING ELSE -- this is the most permissive required-materials list in the dataset, and the pattern is the single most important thing in this file. 'Applicants are encouraged to submit a personal statement.' Recorded required false on the school's own verb; the same 'encouraged' governs the résumé and the letters of recommendation, leaving the application form, the CAS report, transcripts and a test score as the only genuinely compulsory items. Only LMU Duncan comes close among the schools curated here, and LMU still requires letters. A REAL CEILING DESPITE BEING OPTIONAL: 'The statement should be attached to your online application and be limited to two double-spaced pages.' 'Limited to' is a ceiling phrase under docs/CURATION.md, so page_limit 2 is recorded without a judgment call -- the school is clear about length even where it is not clear about necessity. THE PROMPT IS BROAD and names three subjects; no question is asked and no why-Farnan element appears, so no why_x_essay is recorded. Practical reading: at a school with a certified 25th-percentile full-time UGPA of 2.68 and no published minimum score, an optional statement is where an applicant whose numbers understate them has any voice at all. Optional in name is not optional in effect.

  • AddendumOptionalstart by Jul 28, 2027
    Notes & source

ONE CONDITIONAL OBLIGATION, STATED IN A SINGLE SENTENCE -- recorded here because the taxonomy in docs/DATA.md has no character-and-fitness type: 'The application contains questions concerning the applicant's character and fitness for admission to the bar. Affirmative answers to these questions must be accompanied by an addendum explaining the affirmative character and fitness answer.' Note the word is 'must' -- this is the one item on Farnan's list that is mandatory when triggered, on a page where the personal statement, résumé and letters are all merely encouraged. The question set is not published in advance, no disclosure standard is given, and no length or format is set for the explanation. NO GENERAL ADDENDUM SLOT is offered for score, grade or gap explanations, which matters more here than at most schools because the personal statement is optional -- an applicant with something to explain has two documents available and no obligation to send either. The school prints the standard bar warning and one state-specific compliance note: 'Wilmington University Farnan School of Law complies with Delaware Code Title 14 Section 303C.'

  • RésuméOptionalstart by Jul 24, 2027
    Notes & source

'Applicants are encouraged to submit a resume detailing your education, employment, skills, honors, awards, and accomplishments. The resume should be attached to your online application.' Optional on the school's own verb, with six content areas named -- more direction than most schools give a document they do not require. No page limit or format is published. Like the personal statement, it is uploaded to the school's own application rather than routed through CAS.

  • LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Jun 1, 2027
    Notes & source

EITHER TEST, WITH NO ONE-WAY RULE AND NO CONDITIONS: 'Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Test scores are valid for five years only. GRE School Code: 4014.' No quota, no never-taken-the-LSAT bar, and no statement that an LSAT displaces a GRE -- so unlike Charleston, Elon, High Point, Western State, Touro and the sister-city Widener Delaware, the two appear to be genuine equals here. THE FILING SHOWS THE GRE ROUTE IS REAL AND CONCENTRATED IN THE PART-TIME DIVISION: 69 LSAT admissions enrollees (36 full-time, 33 part-time) and 6 GRE admissions enrollees (1 full-time, 5 part-time), together the class of 75. GRE percentiles are withheld under the ABA's under-10 publication floor. NOTE THE HEDGE IN THE CAS INSTRUCTION -- 'including their LSAT score(s) (if applicable)' -- which is the school acknowledging the GRE route rather than making the test itself optional; ABA Standard 503 requires a valid admission test, and the requirements list names both. NO MINIMUM SCORE and no policy on multiple scores is published -- neither a highest-score nor an averaging rule -- which are real gaps. JD-Next is not mentioned and no JD-Next row appears in the filing. LSAC Law School Code 5200.

  • Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Jul 10, 2027
    Notes & source

CAS IS THE ONE UNAMBIGUOUS REQUIREMENT ON THIS PAGE: 'All applicants are required to register and submit the appropriate materials through LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS), including their LSAT score(s) (if applicable), all official transcripts, and letters of recommendation.' Transcripts are marked Required in their own right -- 'All Official Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts (Required). Applicants must submit transcripts to LSAC via the Credential Assembly Service.' THE DEGREE IS NEEDED BY THE START OF CLASSES, NOT BY APPLICATION: 'Applicants may submit their application prior to completing their bachelor's degree. However, new students must have their bachelor's degree conferred prior to the start of classes.' LSAC Law School Code 5200. TWO INTERNAL ROUTES EXIST for Wilmington University's own students -- a '3 + 3 Undergraduate Pathway Program' and an 'automatic admission program' open to 'Current Wilmington University undergraduate or graduate students and alumni' -- each with its own requirements page. NO INTERNATIONAL CREDENTIAL POLICY IS PUBLISHED, and the reason is the exclusion noted in the deadline entry: 'We cannot enroll students who require a Visa.'

  • Letter of recommendationOptionalstart by Jul 3, 2027
    Notes & source

NOT REQUIRED, AND THE CAP IS SOFT: 'Applicants are encouraged to submit up to two letters of recommendation through the Credential Assembly Service. Both academic and professional recommendations may be submitted. Additional letters of recommendation may be submitted by email to lawadmissions@wilmu.edu.' Recorded at count_required 0 and count_accepted 2 on the published figure -- but note the last sentence undoes the ceiling in practice by opening a second channel for anything beyond two. Neither category of recommender is preferred and none is ruled out. This is the sixth school in this batch to make letters optional, after Cooley, Bowen, MC Law, Touro and Widener Delaware.

Administrative

  • InterviewOptionalat submission
    Notes & source

THE SCHOOL CAN REQUIRE AN INTERVIEW, WHICH IS A STRONGER FORMULATION THAN ANY OTHER IN THIS BATCH: 'The admissions committee may require some applicants to interview as part of the admissions process.' Compare Elon ('may interview candidates who are competitive'), High Point ('In certain circumstances, the Admissions Committee may request an interview') and St. Thomas ('will conduct a personal interview when it believes the interview will assist it'). Those describe an invitation; Wilmington describes a requirement that may be imposed. Recorded at required false because it is conditional and no applicant is obliged to interview unless selected -- but an applicant here should treat an interview as a live possibility rather than a courtesy. No format, timing, trigger or route to request one is published.

  • Application feeRequiredat submission
    Notes & source

A $60 FEE CERTIFIED IN THE FILING AND NEVER MENTIONED ON THE SITE. The 2025 509 certifies 'Application fee 60'; the admission-requirements page was fetched in full and states no fee in either direction, nor any waiver process. Recorded as required true on the filing, with the site's silence noted -- as at Western State, that silence matters because the school does charge. NO WAIVER ROUTE IS PUBLISHED, neither a hardship process nor LSAC-waiver reciprocity. WORTH NOTING ALONGSIDE THE PRICE: the 509 certifies that Farnan operates a TUITION GUARANTEE PROGRAMME -- the field reads Y, where almost every school in this batch reads N -- which fixes the rate against increases during a student's enrollment. Only MC Law does the same among the schools curated here. Tuition itself is certified per credit rather than annually, so the 509's annual rows read $0.
