What it costs, how graduates fare

Tuition2025-26

$59,084–$71,329 full-time · resident to non-resident · plus $2,778 annual fees

Living expenses $40,046 on campus

Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

Bar passageclass of 2025

96.7%first-time+13.5

83.1% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 317 of 328 first-time takers passed

96.2% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating

A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

Employmentclass of 2025

313 of 332 (94.3%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission

Ten months after graduation · 9 more in JD-advantage jobs · 4 still seeking · 11 of the bar-admission jobs are funded by the school

The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

First-year attrition2024-25

1.0% of the first-year class · 3 students

No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

EarningsCollege Scorecard

Not a starting salary.

$155,825 median one year after finishing · $177,968 after four

$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential

A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Letters & documents

  • Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Oct 19, 2026
    Notes & source

Exactly two letters — the site says 'Two letters of recommendation (no more than two)... are required.' At least one should be from someone familiar with the applicant's academic work, if at all possible. • Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Oct 26, 2026
    Notes & source

Register with LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS); all applicants must, including GRE-only applicants, reapplicants, and applicants from institutions that do not issue grades. Transcripts from each college or university attended go directly to LSAC — do not wait for fall grades, but submit later work as completed. Post-secondary work outside the U.S. or Canada must go through CAS's evaluation service (exception: study abroad/consortium/exchange work sponsored by a U.S. or Canadian institution and shown on the home-campus transcript). Enrolling students must have a final transcript showing the bachelor's degree sent directly to UCLA Law, at the latest by October 15.

  • LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Sep 17, 2026
    Notes & source

LSAT or GRE, with no stated preference between them; holistic review regardless of test. Regular decision: test no later than January 31, 2027. Early Decision (priority) and Distinguished Scholars: October 31, 2026. Achievement Fellowship: November 30, 2026. An applicant who takes both tests must submit all LSAT scores from the last five years and may choose whether to submit GRE scores — but if any GRE score is submitted, all GRE scores from the last five years must be. GRE-only applicants must submit all GRE scores from the last five years via ETS (school code 4837, department code 5201) and still need CAS. An LSAC writing sample is required — the application cannot be transmitted to UCLA Law without one; review starts once at least one writing sample is in.
