What it costs, how graduates fare
- Tuition2025-26
$30,840 full-time · plus $1,460 annual fees
$21,590 part-time
Living expenses $31,536 on campus · $29,488 off
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
71.0%first-time−8.1
79.2% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 81 of 114 first-time takers passed
88.2% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
90 of 113 (79.6%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 11 more in JD-advantage jobs · 4 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
2.0% of the first-year class · 2 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$60,334 median one year after finishing · $86,293 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequiredstart by Jul 10, 2027
Notes & source
Required of every applicant and listed on the checklist: 'Submit an application and personal statement to UTulsa Law via LSAC.' It is also named among the five things taken into account for admission AND scholarship: 'Personal statement (submitted with application)'. THAT IS THE WHOLE PUBLISHED SPECIFICATION. Tulsa publishes no prompt, no question, no suggested topics, no page or word limit, and no formatting, spacing or font instruction anywhere on the law admission page as fetched on 2026-08-20. Both the prompt and the limit fields are left unset rather than reconstructed -- a complete silence for a required essay that also drives scholarship decisions. The only indirect guidance is the list of secondary factors the committee weighs, which reads as a menu of what a statement might address: 'writing ability, the seriousness of purpose regarding the pursuit of a law degree, employment history, capacity for leadership, maturity, obstacles overcome, discipline, passion for law, service within the community or within the campus community, diversity of thought, background, and experiences.' NO WHY-TULSA QUESTION is asked, and no separate why_x_essay, perspective statement, or optional essay is published, so those types are omitted rather than recorded as absent. Note that 'obstacles overcome' appears in the factor list with no named essay to carry it.

- AddendumOptionalstart by Jul 28, 2027
Notes & source
ONE ADDENDUM IS MANDATORY, AND ONLY FOR ONE GROUP -- previously denied applicants: 'Students who have been denied acceptance to UTulsa College of Law must attach a written statement to their new application that describes what steps they have taken to improve their qualifications for admission.' Tulsa also makes clear a reapplication is a fresh start rather than a reactivation: 'all steps that were taken in the original application must be repeated. Therefore, a new CAS report and application are necessary.' It offers a conversation first, which is unusual and worth taking up: 'Any previously denied applicant is welcome to contact an admissions counselor at lawadmissions@utulsa.edu to discuss the reason for denial.' No length or format is published for the statement. A SECOND CONDITIONAL STATEMENT APPLIES TO TRANSFERS: 'Submit a statement that explains a reason for the transfer request.' NO GENERAL-PURPOSE ADDENDUM IS OFFERED to first-year applicants: there is no named slot for explaining a low GPA, a score disparity, or a gap in the record, and no optional-materials section. That is a real gap, and it is sharpened by the fact that 'obstacles overcome' appears among the factors the committee says it weighs with no published place to describe them. Recorded as the school's silence rather than a refusal. CHARACTER AND FITNESS is named as a primary admission factor and as a checklist item -- 'Comply with the Character and Fitness Jurisdiction Requirements' -- but Tulsa publishes no question set, no disclosure instruction, no explanation requirement, and no continuing duty to update on this page. Recorded as silence. required is false because every published obligation is conditional.

Letters & documents
- Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Jul 3, 2027
Notes & source
'Submit two letters of recommendation to the CAS', and letters are named among the five primary admission factors as 'Two recommendation letters (submitted to CAS)'. NO MAXIMUM IS PUBLISHED, so count_accepted is left unset rather than guessed. NO GUIDANCE ON WHO SHOULD WRITE for first-year applicants -- no preference for academic over professional recommenders, no discouraged categories, no recency rule, and nothing about what a letter should address. Recorded as the school's silence. Note that Tulsa DOES publish both a recency rule and a preference for transfer applicants -- 'Letters should have been written within the past year. A letter from a law school professor or administrator is preferred but not required' -- which makes the absence of any equivalent guidance for first-year applicants more conspicuous rather than less.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Jun 1, 2027
Notes & source
'All applicants are required to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and have a valid score on file prior to the application deadline.' Both tests are accepted without any published penalty attached to the GRE. HOW EACH IS READ IS SPELLED OUT SEPARATELY. LSAT: 'UTulsa Law will consider all LSAT scores for the past five years and will report the highest score to the American Bar Association. Should you opt to take the LSAT more than once, the university will consider all LSAT scores presented by an individual applicant, but more weight is given to the highest LSAT score.' So all sittings are seen, the highest carries most weight, and the highest is what reaches the ABA. GRE: 'Applicants who are submitting a GRE score should request scores for the past five years from Educational Testing Service (ETS) using code 1384. UTulsa Law will consider the highest cumulative GRE score based on the verbal and quantitative scores' -- note the analytical writing section is excluded from that calculation. GRE applicants must also email admissions after applying, which is easy to miss. JD-NEXT IS SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY AND CANNOT SUBSTITUTE: 'At UTulsa Law, an applicant may submit a JD-Next score as a supplemental item to their application. JD Next will not replace the LSAT or GRE.' It too requires a follow-up email to admissions. The 509 prints no JD-Next row, consistent with that. AN AUTOMATIC ADMISSION ROUTE EXISTS FOR TULSA'S OWN UNDERGRADUATES, with a published LSAT number attached -- the only hard score threshold anywhere in this file: applicants must 'Earn at least a 3.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA (as calculated by the Law School Admission Council)', 'Score at least 156 on the LSAT', complete the UTulsa degree 'within five years', have 'no significant character issues' and 'no previous law school attendance'. The reward is substantial: 'Candidates admitted through the Automatic Admission Program will qualify for a merit-based scholarship of at least 50%.' NO MINIMUM SCORE is published for ordinary admission.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Jul 10, 2027
Notes & source
'Create an LSAC account and register for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS)' and 'Order all the necessary college and university transcripts to be sent for assembly in your CAS report.' A degree is required: 'Must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year institution.' Tulsa does not say whether an application may be filed during the final undergraduate year subject to conferral before matriculation -- recorded as silence rather than read as a bar. No minimum GPA is published for ordinary admission; the 3.5 figure belongs to the automatic admission route for UTulsa undergraduates. INTERNATIONAL REQUIREMENTS ARE FULLY SPECIFIED, INCLUDING ONE EXPLICIT REFUSAL. Credentials: applicants with degrees from outside the US or Canada 'must have their transcripts evaluated through the LSAC JD Credential Assembly Service. This service is included in the CAS subscription fee.' English: 'Minimum overall IELTS score required to be considered for admission: IELTS 6.5' and 'Minimum overall TOEFL score required to be considered for admission: Internet-Based Total: 90; Computer-Based Total: 233; Paper-Based Total: 570.' Scores must route through LSAC, and paper copies are refused -- 'LSAC cannot accept paper copies of scores.' AND: 'Duolingo is not accepted at the College of Law at this time.' That is an explicit denial rather than silence, and a useful one given how many applicants now sit the Duolingo test; note the hedge 'at this time'. MILITARY TRAINING has its own route: 'If you received military training, you must submit a Military Training transcript to The University of Tulsa Registrar.'

Administrative
- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
THE SITE AND THE 509 GIVE DIFFERENT AMOUNTS, recorded rather than resolved per docs/CURATION.md. The admissions page states: 'A non-refundable application fee of $40 must accompany all applications for admission to UTulsa College of Law unless a fee waiver has been previously granted.' The school's own 2025 Standard 509 certifies 'Application fee $50'. Both were read on 2026-08-20. The live site is preferred, as the playbook requires, but the gap is $10 and an applicant should not be surprised by either figure. A FEE WAIVER PROCESS EXISTS AND IS LINKED FROM THE APPLICATION PAGE -- 'Request Fee Waiver' -- which is more than most schools in these batches offer, though Tulsa publishes no eligibility criteria, no deadline, and no description of how requests are assessed. The phrasing 'unless a fee waiver has been previously granted' implies the waiver must be secured BEFORE applying rather than claimed at submission. LSAC's own CAS and report charges are separate; Tulsa notes the credential evaluation for international applicants 'is included in the CAS subscription fee'. No seat deposit amount or deadline is published.

- InterviewOptionalat submission
Notes & source
Recorded as the site's silence, not as a statement that Tulsa does not interview. The law admission page -- which carries the application steps, standardized test policy, admission factors, checklist, and separate sections for re-applicants, transfers, international applicants, military training, JD-Next, and three special programmes -- never uses the word 'interview', as fetched on 2026-08-20. The five primary admission factors are entirely file-based: undergraduate GPA, LSAT or GRE score, character and fitness, personal statement, and two recommendation letters. The only applicant contact offered is a campus visit, in person or virtual, framed as the school showing the applicant around rather than as evaluation: 'if you come to Tulsa, show you around our beautiful law school.'
