What it costs, how graduates fare
- Tuition2025-26

Living expenses $29,670 on campus
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
76.1%first-time−5.8
81.9% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 153 of 201 first-time takers passed
92.8% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
180 of 214 (84.1%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 10 more in JD-advantage jobs · 8 still seeking · 2 of the bar-admission jobs are funded by the school
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
0.0% of the first-year class · 1 student
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$76,230 median one year after finishing
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequiredstart by Feb 8, 2027
Notes & source
Required, but Tulane publishes no verbatim prompt, topic, or length limit on its website — the statement is 'the personal statement required by our application (see the last question on the form),' so the actual prompt appears only inside the LSAC application. The Facts, Stats, and FAQs page describes its role: 'The personal statement is the student's opportunity to provide us information that will cause us to choose them over other similar candidates,' and advises 'Your essay submission(s) should be more than a chronology -- it should tell us something about you.' No page or word limit is published.

- AddendumOptionalstart by Feb 26, 2027
Notes & source
The Facts, Stats, and FAQs page invites explanatory attachments without using the word 'addendum': 'Explain any irregularities, don't leave anything about your record unanswered, but don't include term papers, senior theses, videotapes and the like. Feel free to include attachments that fully explain your record and your experiences.' It also encourages sending improved fall grades via a new transcript to CAS (grades sent in January are assured consideration). No length limits published.

Letters & documents
- Letter of recommendationOptionalstart by Feb 1, 2027
Notes & source
Not required. Apply-page wording: 'We suggest submission of up to three letters of recommendation or evaluations from individuals who know you and your capabilities well.' Tulane encourages and prefers LSAC's Letter of Recommendation Service (included in the CAS subscription); per the Facts, Stats, and FAQs page (law.tulane.edu/facts-stats-and-faqs), 'Recommendations aren't required, but they help--if they are written by professors or supervisors who know your work well,' and letters can alternatively be e-mailed to the admissions office.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Feb 8, 2027
Notes & source
Registration with LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS) is required, and applications must be submitted through LSAC's electronic application service. ABA transcript rule stated on the apply page: if official transcripts are not on file by October 15 of the semester of matriculation, the student may finish the current semester but cannot enroll in a subsequent one until transcripts are received. Per the Facts, Stats, and FAQs page (law.tulane.edu/facts-stats-and-faqs), Tulane is one of a handful of schools that will admit exceptional students without a completed baccalaureate degree (three-quarters of the work toward a B.A./B.S., almost all in courses of substantial intellectual content), though in most years only 3/3-program students enter without a degree.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Dec 31, 2026
Notes & source
LSAT only — an explicit policy, not page silence: 'Tulane requires the LSAT for all first-year J.D. applicants. No exceptions. We accept scores from any version of the LSAT offered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) so long as the score is reportable.' The GRE is not mentioned by name anywhere on the admissions pages. Tulane considers only the highest reported score across multiple takes. Per the apply page (law.tulane.edu/dates-deadlines-how-apply), the LSAT must be taken no earlier than five years prior to enrollment; March, April, and June administrations are considered for fall matriculation, while July scores may only be used for the next year's cycle. The LSAT writing sample is not 'graded' but is used as an additional piece of information in close cases.

- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
$60 (the amount also appears in the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report). Site wording: 'The fee is waived for JD applicants who apply via LSAC by December 31. If you receive a need-based fee waiver for LSAC services, your application fee for Tulane will be waived automatically when you apply electronically.'
