$28,640 part-time
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
85.6%first-time+2.9
82.7% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 243 of 284 first-time takers passed
94.8% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
245 of 299 (81.9%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 7 more in JD-advantage jobs · 12 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

5.0% of the first-year class · 40 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

Not a starting salary.
$73,069 median one year after finishing · $108,296 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

- Personal statementRequiredstart by Jan 15, 2027
Attach detailed personal statement setting forth applicant's unique individual qualifications, interests, and aspirations for the study of law (the personal statement should be 2-3 pages in length, double spaced)
Notes & source
Step 5 of the seven-step application process. NO PAGE LIMIT IS RECORDED, deliberately: '2-3 pages in length, double spaced' is a stated range rather than a cap, and per docs/CURATION.md guidance is not converted into a page_limit. Double spacing is the one firm formatting instruction; no font or margin requirement is published. The FAQ explains why this document carries more weight here than at most schools, and ties it directly to the absence of interviews: 'Our admissions committee takes the personal statement very seriously. Since we do not offer Admissions interviews you should approach it as an opportunity to interview with the committee. You may write about your skills, strengths, advanced degrees, work experiences, personal struggles you have overcome, and professionally related extracurricular activities. Make sure that you do not restate your resume. In a separate statement of no more than 1 page, you may want to explain any mitigating circumstances in your record. Also, remember to proofread your information very carefully!' NO SEPARATE ESSAYS: South Texas publishes no perspective or diversity statement, no standalone 'why South Texas' essay, and no optional essay prompt of any kind -- the personal statement absorbs all of it, with mitigating circumstances routed to a one-page addendum instead. The Admissions Committee does weigh 'diverse life experiences, and adversity' among its holistic factors, but offers no dedicated place to write about them.

- AddendumOptional · 1 pgstart by Feb 2, 2027
Notes & source
Two distinct things, one optional with a real cap and one required when triggered. (1) OPTIONAL, and this is one of the few length limits South Texas actually publishes, from the FAQ's personal-statement answer: 'In a separate statement of no more than 1 page, you may want to explain any mitigating circumstances in your record.' Recorded as page_limit 1 because 'no more than 1 page' is a cap rather than guidance. The school does not enumerate qualifying circumstances or distinguish a GPA addendum from a score addendum; 'mitigating circumstances in your record' is the whole of it. The Admissions Committee's published list of factors does name 'addenda' among what it weighs. (2) REQUIRED WHEN TRIGGERED, character and fitness: 'Please note: If you answered “yes” to any of the Character and Fitness questions, please include your detailed letter of explanation.' The application instructions also flag 'disclosures and updates' as an area to pay special attention to. The site carries the standard bar-admission caution under Qualifications for Admission to the Bar.

- RésuméRequiredstart by Jan 29, 2027
Notes & source
Step 4 of the seven-step process, and required rather than optional: 'Submit a resume of employment.' The application-deadline block confirms it is one of the three things that must land by the deadline itself -- 'applicants should submit the application, personal statement, and resume by' the dates listed -- which puts the resume on the earlier clock with the application, unlike the CAS report. No page limit, format, or content guidance is published, so none is recorded. The FAQ adds one instruction, aimed at the personal statement rather than the resume: 'Make sure that you do not restate your resume.'

Notes & source
Step 6: 'Submit at least two letters of recommendation - a third is optional - through the Letter of Recommendation Service offered by LSAC. This service is included in your CAS Registration fees. (South Texas College of Law Houston does not accept Evaluations in place of Letters of Recommendation).' That parenthetical is worth passing on: LSAC Evaluations are a distinct product from Letters of Recommendation, and an applicant who submits only Evaluations has not met this requirement. Routing is through LSAC's service exclusively. South Texas publishes no preference for academic over professional recommenders and no guidance on what the letters should address -- recorded as silence rather than as an absence of preference. Letters travel in the CAS report, which the school explicitly allows to arrive after the application deadline, though the file will not be reviewed until it is complete.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Dec 7, 2026
Notes & source
Either test, stated as a genuine alternative in the first line of the requirements: 'All applicants are required to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), administered nationwide by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), administered by ETS.' A FIVE-YEAR VALIDITY WINDOW applies to both, and it is measured from the start of the semester rather than from the application date: 'South Texas College of Law Houston will not consider an LSAT or GRE score from a test administered more than five years before the beginning of the semester for which application for admission is made.' Routing differs by test -- the LSAT arrives through CAS, while GRE registration information is given with the school's own ETS code: 'Registration information for the GRE (School Code: 2749) may be obtained by calling ETS 609.771.7670 or at www.ets.org/gre.' The 509 shows the GRE path is real but small: of 437 first-year enrollees, 428 are LSAT admissions enrollees and 9 are GRE admissions enrollees (6 full-time, 3 part-time), with GRE percentiles withheld because the cohort is under the ABA's 10-test-taker publication floor. No JD-Next variance is mentioned and the 509 prints no JD-Next row. Nothing is published about superscoring, score averaging, or LSAT Writing, and no minimum score is stated.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Jan 15, 2027
Notes & source
Step 2 of the process: 'Applicants must also register with the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). Each applicant is responsible for making their own arrangements to take the LSAT or GRE and for submitting official transcripts of all undergraduate work to CAS for evaluation, as well as any post-baccalaureate or graduate work.' South Texas is unusually specific about what happens AFTER admission if a degree is still in progress, and the consequences are academic rather than merely administrative: 'Once admitted, a candidate must provide a degree conferred transcript prior to the first day of class if the degree was conferred after submitting the application to the law school. If official transcripts are not received by the first day of class for the fall semester, Student Services shall be notified and shall allow a reasonable time for the student to provide the official transcript, but no later than October 15th for students beginning in the Fall semester. For students beginning in the Spring semester, the official transcript must be received no later than the first day of class or by four weeks after the semester begins.' Missing that window stops enrolment progressing: the student 'will be permitted to complete the current semester then in progress, but will not be permitted to register for courses in a subsequent semester absent a showing of extraordinary circumstances,' which 'may include canceling a student's existing course registration for the subsequent semester, placing the student on a leave of absence, or administratively withdrawing the student.' The seat is recoverable once the transcript arrives. No minimum GPA is published, and the pages say nothing about international transcripts, foreign credential evaluation, TOEFL, or IELTS -- recorded as silence.

Administrative
- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
CONDITIONAL, and the condition is the priority deadline rather than financial need. Step 7 of the process reads 'Pay the $55 non-refundable application fee if applying after the priority deadline,' and the deadline sidebar states the rule from the other side: 'All applicants who apply by the Priority Deadline will automatically receive an application fee waiver.' So an applicant who files by February 5, 2027 for fall entry (or September 21, 2026 for spring) pays nothing, automatically and without applying for anything; only later applicants are charged. The 509 independently certifies the fee as 55. Recorded as required: true because the fee is real for anyone filing after the priority date. No need-based fee-waiver process is published separately, and no LSAC-waiver-based waiver is mentioned -- the timing rule appears to be the whole policy.

- InterviewOptionalat submission
Notes & source
AN EXPLICIT DENIAL, not a silence -- the distinction matters per docs/CURATION.md, and South Texas is one of the few schools that states this outright. From the FAQ: 'Since we do not offer Admissions interviews you should approach it as an opportunity to interview with the committee,' where 'it' is the personal statement. So there is no evaluative interview, no interview by invitation, and no interview on request, and the school redirects that function into the written statement by design. The Admissions Committee's published list of factors -- 'LSAT/GRE scores, cumulative undergraduate grade point average, rigor of undergraduate coursework, performance in graduate programs, letters of recommendation, personal statements, addenda, extracurricular activities, work experience, demonstrated skills, diverse life experiences, and adversity' -- contains no interview, consistent with the denial. Campus visits are offered separately and are not part of the evaluation.
