What it costs, how graduates fare
- Bar passageclass of 2025
79.5%first-time−3.4
83.0% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 163 of 205 first-time takers passed
90.7% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
154 of 204 (75.5%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 10 more in JD-advantage jobs · 8 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
8.0% of the first-year class · 17 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$74,248 median one year after finishing · $105,471 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequired · 2 pgstart by Dec 11, 2026
a personal statement, typed, double-spaced, no more than two pages. The statement should detail how your lived experiences have motivated your law school journey. We encourage you to discuss challenges overcome, leadership roles, special skills you possess or any other information you wish to highlight.
Notes & source
The prompt above is the whole of what Seattle U publishes — item (b) in the numbered application-procedures list, quoted verbatim including its leading instruction. Two pages maximum, typed and double-spaced; no font size or margin rule is published. NO OTHER ESSAY IS PUBLISHED ANYWHERE: there is no perspective or diversity statement, no 'why Seattle U' essay, and no optional supplemental essay in the JD admission section (JD Program Admission, JD Admission Requirements, JD Application Procedures, Dates and Deadlines, Access Admission Program, GRE Information, JD-Next Information, International Students applying for the JD) or on the Flex JD admission page — recorded as the site’s silence, not as a statement that none exists inside the LSAC application. The part-time Flex JD requires the same statement: its admission page says 'Flex JD’s admission requirements and application procedures are the same as for the traditional JD program' and lists 'Two-page personal statement.'

- AddendumOptional · 1 pgstart by Dec 29, 2026
Submit an optional one-page addendum if desired to address, for example, a large difference between test scores or anything you wish to share that is not included elsewhere in your application.
Notes & source
The only addendum the school describes; one page, optional, and the examples given are the school’s own. No separate GPA addendum, character-and-fitness addendum, or test-optional explanation is described. CHARACTER AND FITNESS, separately: the Flex JD admission page lists 'Character and fitness disclosures, if any' among the materials submitted through LSAC, and the admitted-student checklist (law.seattleu.edu/admission/admitted-jd-students/admitted-student-checklist/) states 'Required disclosures include: academic probation, dismissal or suspension, or misdemeanor or felony charges or convictions' and 'You must immediately report to us any incidents that take place after your application submission.'

Notes & source
'Arrange to have two (2) letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf. Of particular influence are evaluations from professors or professional colleagues who can attest to your work ethic, analytical and writing abilities, and other positive attributes. Your recommenders must submit letters directly to LSAC.' The site publishes NO maximum number of letters accepted — recorded as the site’s silence, so no count_accepted is set here. The Flex JD admission page repeats the same requirement ('Two letters of recommendation'), and the Global Accelerated JD procedures require the official CAS report to include two letters.

Notes & source
'Register with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and2 sign up for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS)' (the stray '2' is a typo in the school’s published page, quoted as it appears) and 'Send transcripts of all your undergraduate work (and any graduate transcripts, if applicable) directly to LSAC.' DEGREE REQUIREMENT, per JD Admission Requirements (law.seattleu.edu/admission/apply/jd-program-admission/jd-admission-requirements/): 'Earned or will earn a bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university prior to your enrollment.' Processing: 'It may take up to two weeks for your file to complete.' INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS (law.seattleu.edu/admission/international-students-applying-for-the-jd/): foreign postsecondary transcripts must be submitted through LSAC CAS for an AACRAO Foreign Credential Evaluation, with an exception 'If you completed the foreign work through a study abroad, consortium, or exchange program sponsored by a U.S. or Canadian institution'; TOEFL or IELTS is required unless the applicant is a native English speaker, completed a degree or certificate program taught primarily in English, or 'worked in an English-speaking environment for at least one year,' with minimums of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL and 7 on IELTS, sent to LSAC using code 0058. Admitted students must submit official final transcripts reflecting degree conferral, 'by Oct. 15 to avoid enrollment delays' (admitted-student checklist).

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Nov 2, 2026
Notes & source
THREE tests accepted, as alternatives. JD Admission Requirements lists them as 'Taken one of the following tests: Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or Graduate Record Examinations Test (GRE) or JD-Next Exam.' Seattle U holds an ABA Standard 503 variance permitting JD-Next; its 2025 Standard 509 report shows 5 JD-Next enrollees in the Fall 2025 first-year class. LAST TESTS FOR THIS CYCLE: 'June 2027 scores are the last we can accept for the 2027 application cycle' (LSAT) and 'June 2027 scores are the last we can consider for the 2027 application cycle' (GRE); no cutoff is published for JD-Next. VALIDITY AND MULTIPLE SCORES: 'Test scores from the past five years must be submitted,' and on both the GRE Information and JD-Next Information pages, 'All reportable scores for the last five years must be submitted to the Seattle U Law Office of Admission. The Admission Committee considers the highest [GRE/JD-Next Exam] score[s] submitted.' The site publishes no equivalent policy for multiple LSAT scores and no LSAT Writing requirement — recorded as silence. GRE School Code 4536. 'As with the LSAT, there is no required minimum GRE score.' Applicants holding a valid LSAT score 'are not required to send an existing GRE score, but may do so if desired... the LSAT score will be used as the primary standardized admission test score in the evaluation process.' A candidate admitted on a GRE-only or JD-Next-only score who later takes the LSAT 'may have their admission offers (and any scholarships awarded) revoked until the LSAT score arrives,' with re-evaluation and no guarantee of readmission or scholarship. Foreign-trained lawyers applying to the Global Accelerated JD Program 'are not required to have taken the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).' STALE FIGURE ON THE SCHOOL’S OWN PAGES: the GRE Information and JD-Next Information pages both state 'The median LSAT score for incoming Seattle U Law students is 161, which is approximately the 75th percentile of all test takers' — the school’s 2025 ABA Standard 509 report and its own 'JD students by the numbers' page both put the Fall 2025 median LSAT at 159.

- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
'a $70 application fee, payable on the LSAC website.' Nonrefundable — the Global Accelerated JD procedures on the same page call it a 'Nonrefundable $70 application fee.' The same $70 figure appears in the school’s 2025 ABA Standard 509 report. FEE WAIVERS: the admission section says nothing about them anywhere — no waiver policy, no eligibility criteria, no request process. Recorded as the site’s silence, not as a refusal to grant waivers.
