What it costs, how graduates fare
- Tuition2025-26
$56,610 full-time · plus $1,150 annual fees
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
75.4%first-time+4.2
71.3% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 86 of 114 first-time takers passed
87.5% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
94 of 123 (76.4%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 12 more in JD-advantage jobs · 6 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
6.0% of the first-year class · 8 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$62,011 median one year after finishing · $100,096 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequired · 750 wat submission
We are interested in learning more about you as an individual. The personal statement is your opportunity to share with us your unique life experiences, what is important to you and what makes you want to pursue a legal education. A carefully crafted, well-written and concise statement is what we are looking for as we seek to learn more about you and assess your writing ability. This essay should reflect solely your own work and not exceed 750 words.
Notes & source
Step 4 of the seven-step 'How to Apply' list and a listed component of a complete application. The 750-word cap is confirmed on the school's own admissions-portal guide (lawadm.qu.edu/register/PS): 'Adhere to the directions. Unless otherwise noted, use 12-point font Times New Roman and stay within 1.5-2 pages (about 750 words). Quinnipiac Law's limit is 750 words.' The public tips page (law.qu.edu/admissions/prospective-student-portal/personal-statements/) gives the same formatting guidance generically ('use a standard font (12 point, Times New Roman)') plus advice to establish a theme, not recapitulate the resume, and leave shortcomings to a brief addendum. Neither page states a Quinnipiac generative-AI policy; the portal guide only says 'AI Usage. Adhere to the school's AI policy' as generic advice about schools in general — the site is silent on Quinnipiac's own rule.

- Optional essayOptionalschool-specificat submission
To become a candidate for a Dean's Fellows Scholarship, please address the reasons why you should be considered for the award in your application for law school admission. You should include: previous leadership experience; scholarly pursuits; civic and volunteer activities; plans for what you hope to do with your law degree. An additional essay may be submitted.
Notes & source
Scholarship-specific, not an admissions requirement — this is the Dean's Fellows Scholarship (full law tuition, full-time applicants only), whose application deadline is February 1. The four items after 'You should include' are a bulleted list on the page; they are reproduced verbatim, joined with semicolons. 'An additional essay may be submitted' is the page's only invitation to write beyond the personal statement, and it sets no length limit or format. Quinnipiac publishes no perspective/diversity statement, no 'why Quinnipiac' essay, and no other optional essay prompt anywhere on its admissions pages.

- AddendumOptionalat submission
Notes & source
Quinnipiac never publishes a standalone addendum instruction; it exists only as an aside inside the school's personal-statement guidance. Public tips page: 'Mention weaknesses, but don't dwell on them — Shortcomings are best left to be addressed in a brief addendum to the application if necessary. Your personal statement should highlight your strengths.' The school's admissions-portal guide (lawadm.qu.edu/register/PS) puts it as 'Acknowledge weaknesses briefly... If needed, mention weaknesses only to show resilience and growth. More detailed explanations belong in an addendum.' No length limit, no format, and no list of acceptable topics is given. There is no published GPA, LSAT-disparity, or character-and-fitness addendum instruction on the admissions pages; the university academic catalog's character-and-fitness section (catalog.qu.edu/school-of-law/) addresses bar admission after enrollment, not the law school application.

Letters & documents
- Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredat submission
Notes & source
'Quinnipiac University School of Law requires a total of two letters or recommendation and will accept up to three' (sic — the apply page reads 'letters or recommendation'). Sent directly to CAS. 'Consider asking academic professors or employers to provide positive, accurate statements on your behalf.' The Factors We Consider block on law.qu.edu/admissions/ narrows this to 'Two letters of recommendation from professors at your current school.' The school's letters guide (law.qu.edu/admissions/prospective-student-portal/letters-of-recommendation/) adds: 'Quinnipiac Law prefers letters to come from your professors unless you have been out of a school for an extended period'; 'we ask that you refrain from submitting personal letters (even if from politicians, judges, your pastor or a congressperson), unless they worked with you directly'; 'Some schools require you submit a letter that specifically addresses your character. Quinnipiac Law does not request this type of letter'; and 'Quinnipiac Law requires two letters, but will accept a third.' Applicants out of school a while are told to consider a current employer or colleague who can address law-school-relevant skills.

- RésuméRequiredat submission
Notes & source
'We require a resume that clearly outlines life, work, education and community service experience' (apply page, step 5), and it is listed among the materials making up a complete application. No page limit is recorded because Quinnipiac publishes advice rather than a cap: its resume guide (law.qu.edu/admissions/prospective-student-portal/professional-resumes/) says 'Keep your resume to one page unless you have a significant work history (greater than 10 years in the workforce). Resumes, in general, should be a maximum of two pages,' along with 12-point Times New Roman, reverse-chronological ordering, month/year dates plus hours per week for less-than-full-time roles, no objectives, no personal pronouns, and no high school activities unless significant. Note the apply page numbers this step '5' twice — the resume and the letters of recommendation are both labeled step 5, so the list runs 1-5-5-7.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredat submission
Notes & source
'All applicants must submit their application and supporting materials using the Law School Admissions Council's (LSAC) Credential Assembly Service (CAS).' Quinnipiac's LSAC code is 3973. 'Request transcripts from every undergraduate and graduate school attended. All transcripts should be sent directly to the Credential Assembly Service.' CAS also delivers the letters of recommendation. Eligibility: 'Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university'; 'There is no ideal major or required major for law school.' The international applicants page (law.qu.edu/admissions/apply/international/) adds only visa and Certification of Finances requirements — it is silent on TOEFL, IELTS, and on any credential-evaluation requirement for foreign transcripts, which is recorded here as silence, not as an absence of the requirement.

- LSAT or GRERequiredat submission
Notes & source
LSAT only, and the GRE is explicitly refused — not merely unmentioned: 'The LSAT is a demanding standardized test and we recommend that you prepare for it seriously and carefully... We accept LSAT scores earned within five years previous to the application date. If you take the test more than once, we use your higher LSAT score. Please note that we do not accept the GRE.' The identical block appears on the first-year, transfer, international, and program-level admissions pages. An LSAT writing sample is a separate listed component of a complete application, alongside the LSAT score itself. Highest score is used, not an average, and no minimum score is published. The site says nothing about JD-Next, and the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report shows LSAT as its only reported admission test.

- Application feeOptionalat submission
Notes & source
There is no application fee. 'Application fees can add up and sometimes make the difference between applying to a school or limiting your choices. To alleviate some of the costs associated with applying to law school, we are waiving our application fee.' The school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report confirms it, listing 'Application fee $0'. The site does not say whether the waiver is permanent or cycle-specific.

- InterviewOptionalat submission
Notes & source
No admissions interview. The apply, admissions, transfer, international, and program-level admissions pages describe the process end to end and never mention an interview in any form — recorded as the site's silence, not as a stated policy of not interviewing. The only interview Quinnipiac publishes is scholarship selection: 'Finalists for Dean's Fellows will be invited to participate in selection interviews and a special program designed to introduce them to our academic offerings, and to meet with faculty, students and deans. This program will take place in late March. To be eligible for a Dean's Fellows award, finalists must attend this program' (law.qu.edu/tuition-and-financial-aid/types-of-aid/scholarships/law-deans-fellows-scholarship/). The school's personal-statement tips page speaks about interviews only in the general third person ('If a school does not offer interviews (which most do not), this is your only chance to introduce yourself'), which is advice about law schools at large rather than a statement about Quinnipiac. Campus visits and tours (law.qu.edu/admissions/visit/) are recruiting events, not evaluative interviews.
