What it costs, how graduates fare
- Bar passageclass of 2025
44.9%first-time−9.9
54.8% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 61 of 136 first-time takers passed
83.3% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
25 of 147 (17.0%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 11 more in JD-advantage jobs · 43 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
15.0% of the first-year class · 22 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$20,330 median one year after finishing · $39,634 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

PUCPR REQUIRES TWO GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS AT APPLICATION THAT NO OTHER SCHOOL IN THIS DATASET ASKS FOR, and they are listed as plain application items rather than as conditional disclosures: 'Copia de la tarjeta de Seguro Social' -- a copy of the Social Security card -- and 'Certificado de Antecedentes Penales' -- a criminal record certificate. Recorded here because the taxonomy in docs/DATA.md has no character-and-fitness or identity-document type, and recorded at required true because both are unconditional: every applicant sends them, not only those with something to disclose. THAT IS A MATERIALLY DIFFERENT APPROACH TO CHARACTER AND FITNESS from the mainland pattern. Every other school in this batch asks character-and-fitness questions and requires an explanatory addendum only from applicants who answer yes; PUCPR asks for the certificate itself from everyone, issued by the Puerto Rico Police, and reads the record rather than the applicant's account of it. An applicant should obtain the certificate early -- it is a government-issued document with its own processing time, and the school publishes no lead-time guidance. NO PERSONAL STATEMENT, ESSAY OR RESUME REQUIREMENT IS PUBLISHED ANYWHERE on this page. Under docs/CURATION.md those types are omitted rather than recorded as absent -- the school has made no claim either way. Note this makes PUCPR one of only two schools in the whole dataset, alongside Southern University, whose published application list contains no writing at all; and unlike Faulkner's or Inter American's, this page is otherwise complete and specific, which makes the absence harder to attribute to an unfinished site. Expect the application form to ask for more than this list shows, and confirm with the admissions office.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by May 1, 2027
Notes & source
LSAT ONLY, AND CAS IS A HARD GATE: 'Tomar el Law School Admission Test (LSAT) y suscribirse al Credential Assembly Service (CAS). Suscribirse a este servicio es un requisito indispensable del proceso de admisión. Si el solicitante no se suscribe al CAS, la Escuela de Derecho no recibirá su solicitud' -- take the LSAT and subscribe to CAS; subscribing is an indispensable requirement of the admission process; if the applicant does not subscribe to CAS, the Law School will not receive the application. That last clause is stronger than the usual 'your file will be incomplete': without CAS the application does not arrive at all. FIVE-YEAR VALIDITY MEASURED AT THE DEADLINE: 'La puntuación del examen tiene una vigencia de 5 años y debe estar vigente a la fecha límite para solicitar admisión.' THE EXADEP IS GONE, which is the substantive survivor of an otherwise stale COVID-era notice: the school records 'la decisión de descontinuar el EXADEP' and says it 'aceptará solicitudes sin el EXADEP' -- it will accept applications without the EXADEP, the Spanish-language graduate admission test formerly used across Puerto Rico. The same notice still refers to LSAT-Flex, which no longer exists; see the deadline note. NO GRE AND NO JD-NEXT ROUTE is mentioned, and the 2025 509 prints a single LSAT row covering all 161 first-years with no GRE or JD-Next row. NO MINIMUM SCORE is published.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Jun 9, 2027
Notes & source
TRANSCRIPTS GO TWO PLACES, WHICH IS UNUSUAL AND EASY TO GET HALF-RIGHT. To the school by post: 'Solicitar y enviar por correo postal una transcripción oficial de créditos de bachillerato y de otros estudios graduados de una universidad reconocida y debidamente acreditada' -- request and send by postal mail an official transcript of undergraduate credits and of any other graduate study, from a recognised and duly accredited university. And to CAS, for which the school prints LSAC's Newtown postal address on the same list. CAS registration is the gate described in the lsat_or_gre entry -- without it the application is not received. THE APPLICATION ITSELF MAY BE FILED ON PAPER, which almost no school in this dataset still allows: 'Completar la solicitud de admisión en línea o enviar por correo postal a la oficina de admisiones' -- complete the application online or send it by postal mail to the admissions office. NO MINIMUM GPA is published and no major is preferred.

- Letter of recommendationRequiredstart by Jun 2, 2027
Notes & source
ONE LETTER, WITH THREE ACCEPTABLE AUTHORS NAMED AND NOTHING ELSE SAID: 'Una carta de recomendación. (Abogado, Supervisor o Profesor)' -- one letter of recommendation (Attorney, Supervisor or Professor). A single required letter is at the low end of what law schools ask, and naming an attorney first is distinctive to a jurisdiction where the profession is small and the school is one of three. No maximum is published, so no count_accepted is recorded; no guidance is given on what the letter should address, and no delivery route is specified -- the page does not say whether it travels through CAS or direct, which is a real gap given that transcripts here explicitly go both ways.

- InterviewRequiredat submission
Notes & source
AN INTERVIEW IS A REQUIRED STAGE FOR QUALIFYING CANDIDATES -- THE ONLY SCHOOL IN THIS DATASET WHERE IT IS RECORDED AS REQUIRED: 'Los candidatos que cumplan con los criterios de selección deberán pasar por un proceso de entrevista con el Comité de Admisiones y el Decano o representante autorizado' -- candidates who meet the selection criteria MUST go through an interview process with the Admissions Committee and the Dean or an authorised representative. The verb is 'deberán' (must), not 'podrán' (may), and the interview is with the committee and the dean rather than an admissions officer. Compare the rest of this batch: Elon, High Point, Regent and Liberty describe invitations; St. Thomas describes a committee decision; Wilmington says it 'may require some applicants' to interview; Touro, NIU, WNE, UPR and Charleston deny interviews outright. Recorded at required true because every candidate who reaches the selection threshold has to sit one -- there is no published route to admission that skips it. NO FORMAT, LENGTH, TIMING OR LOCATION IS PUBLISHED, and the page does not say whether it can be done remotely. Worth an email before planning travel, particularly for an off-island applicant.

- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
A $75 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE, PAID BY POSTAL MONEY ORDER OR CERTIFIED CHECK AND REQUIRED TO ARRIVE WITH THE APPLICATION: 'Incluir cuota de admisión pagadera en giro postal o cheque certificado a la orden de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico. La cuota de solicitud de admisión no es reembolsable y deberá venir acompañada de la solicitud' -- include the admission fee payable by postal money order or certified check to the order of the University; the fee is non-refundable and must accompany the application. The published schedule reads 'Cuota de admisión (No reembolsable). Regular - $75.00', and the 2025 509 certifies the same amount. THIS IS THE JOINT-HIGHEST FEE IN THIS BATCH, alongside Southern University, and the most restrictive payment method: no card, no online payment, and the money must travel with the form -- so a postal money order has to be obtained before the June 30 deadline, not after it. The school reserves the right to change it without notice: 'La cuota antes mencionada está sujeta a cambios sin previa notificación.' NO WAIVER PROCESS IS PUBLISHED, neither a hardship route nor LSAC-waiver reciprocity.
