What it costs, how graduates fare

Tuition2025-26

$66,720 full-time · plus $2,498 annual fees

Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

Bar passageclass of 2025

85.3%first-time+8.3

77.0% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 313 of 367 first-time takers passed

91.0% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating

A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

Employmentclass of 2025

319 of 383 (83.3%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission

Ten months after graduation · 18 more in JD-advantage jobs · 4 still seeking

The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

First-year attrition2024-25

3.0% of the first-year class · 7 students

No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

Not a starting salary.

$76,760 median one year after finishing · $117,811 after four

$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential

A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays

  • Personal statementRequired · 2 pgstart by Oct 12, 2026

Applicants are required to include a personal statement that best reflects their individual accomplishments and life experiences as they relate to the applicant's interest in becoming part of the legal profession, such as professional background, leadership roles, public service, civic engagement, specific interest in the law, or unique circumstances.

    Notes & source

Formatting and length: 'Please ensure the statement is double-spaced, contains at least 500 words, and does not exceed two pages.' The 500 words is a floor, not a ceiling, so it is recorded here rather than as a word limit. Generative AI is prohibited: 'While review by others is acceptable, this statement should be written solely by the applicant without the use of generative artificial intelligence programs.' Uploaded through the Attachments section of the LSAC application. The page adds that 'The Admission Committee will carefully review this information to reach a decision on the application.'

  • AddendumOptionalstart by Oct 30, 2026

For any affirmative answer to the Character and Fitness section of the application, applicants are required to submit a statement that includes the date, location, and a detailed explanation and resolution of each incident.

    Notes & source

Conditionally required rather than optional: the only addendum the instructions page describes is the Character and Fitness explanation, which is mandatory for any affirmative answer and not applicable otherwise (hence required: false here). The page does not use the word 'addendum' and does not mention GPA, LSAT, or gap-in-employment addenda at all — recorded as the page's silence, not as a prohibition. 'After initial review of your application, the Admissions Committee may request additional documentation.' No length limit is published. The page stresses a continuing duty to disclose that runs from submission through enrollment, that the duty covers matters expunged or sealed and university housing sanctions, that pending or expected charges must be disclosed, and that advice from any source (including legal counsel) that disclosure is unnecessary does not excuse a failure to disclose.

Letters & documents

  • Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Oct 5, 2026
    Notes & source

'Miami Law requires a minimum of two and accepts a maximum of four letters of recommendation.' Letters must be submitted through LSAC and arrive as part of the CAS Report. 'An application will not be considered complete until two recommendation letters have been received' — so the letters gate review, which matters under rolling admissions. The page does not specify whether recommenders should be academic or professional.

  • Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Oct 12, 2026
    Notes & source

Registration with LSAC's Credential Assembly Service is required; Miami Law's CAS school code is 5815. Transcripts are required for all academic work undertaken at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional level, including credit and non-credit courses, sent through LSAC; final-semester or summer transcripts completed after CAS submission must also be sent through LSAC. All offers of admission are conditional on receipt of an official transcript conferring a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or an equivalent international degree. Applicants with more than one year of post-secondary work outside the U.S. (including its territories) or Canada must use LSAC's international transcript authentication and evaluation service, included in the CAS registration fee and performed by AACRAO; international transcripts sent to LSAC are forwarded to Miami Law upon matriculation. Applicants educated outside the U.S. whose native language is not English must submit an English proficiency test: TOEFL minimum 92 iBT or 5.0 on the new scale (LSAC code 8395), IELTS minimum 7.0 (no code needed), or Duolingo English Test minimum 125 (sent directly to admissions@law.miami.edu).

  • LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Sep 3, 2026
    Notes & source

'Miami Law accepts LSAT, GRE, and JD-Next Exam official scores dated after June 2022 to fulfill our assessment requirement. If you have taken different types of assessments, you must submit all reportable scores as part of your application.' LSAT scores arrive automatically on the CAS Report; GRE scores go through the ETS portal using Miami Law's code 2751; JD-Next scores are released directly by JD-Next at the applicant's request. Score-validity window is stated as an absolute date (after June 2022), not a rolling number of years, so it will presumably move in future cycles. Completion timing: an applicant who indicates an intent to take a future test but already has a score on file must tell Miami Law in writing to mark the application complete on current scores, or the file stays incomplete until the future score arrives — which under rolling review delays consideration. The page does not state a score-averaging or highest-score policy. Note that the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report publishes LSAT and GRE enrollee columns only, with no JD Next row.

    Notes & source

'Applicants must submit a non-refundable $60 application fee via the LSAC Flex Application portal. If an applicant has received a fee waiver from LSAC or Miami Law, the waiver will be automatically applied to the applicant's LSAC account.' The $60 amount also appears in the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report. The page does not describe how to request a waiver directly from Miami Law or what criteria it applies.
