What it costs, how graduates fare
- Tuition2025-26
$44,782 full-time · plus $300 annual fees
Living expenses $23,289 on campus
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
86.5%first-time+6.8
79.8% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 122 of 141 first-time takers passed
90.9% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
128 of 142 (90.1%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 3 more in JD-advantage jobs · 6 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
3.0% of the first-year class · 5 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$64,894 median one year after finishing · $90,359 after four
$105,518 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequiredstart by Dec 25, 2026
Notes & source
REQUIRED, BUT THE PROMPT IS NOT ON THE WEBSITE — an unusual gap, and the school says so outright: 'The personal statement provides prospective students an opportunity to share their perspectives on a number of specified topics. Please refer to the application for specific information regarding the personal statement requirement and topics to be discussed.' So Mercer assigns topics, and an applicant cannot see them without opening the LSAC application. No prompt is recorded here because none is published; no word or page limit, no formatting requirement, and nothing about generative AI appears either. The phrasing 'a number of specified topics' implies the statement is structured rather than open — an applicant planning to reuse a general personal statement across schools should open Mercer's application early to find out what is actually being asked. NO OTHER ESSAY IS MENTIONED anywhere on Mercer's admissions pages: no perspective or diversity statement, no why-school essay, no optional essay, and no addendum invitation — recorded as silences.

- Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Dec 18, 2026
Notes & source
'Two letters of recommendation are required, preferably from university professors. Letters should focus on your character, intelligence, and aptitude for the study of law. Please use the Letter of Recommendation Service provided by LSAC.' Three content elements are named — character, intelligence, aptitude — which is more direction than most schools give a recommender. No ceiling is published, so count_accepted is omitted. Academic letters are preferred but not required.

- RésuméRequired · 2 pgstart by Jan 8, 2027
Notes & source
THE MOST PRESCRIPTIVE RESUME REQUIREMENT IN THIS DATA SET, with both a range and mandatory sections: 'You must provide a resume with your application materials. The resume should be between 1-2 pages. The following sections must be included: contact information, previous education, professional experience. You may also include skills, community and volunteer work, awards and honors, affiliations and/or memberships, publications or presentations, and interests or hobbies.' page_limit records the top of the range. Note the division between the three sections that 'must be included' and the seven that 'may' be — a resume missing professional experience or education is incomplete by Mercer's own definition.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Dec 25, 2026
Notes & source
'You must have a separate transcript sent to LSAC from each undergraduate and graduate institution you have attended' — every institution, graduate ones included. A SECOND OBLIGATION AFTER ADMISSION: 'If accepted, you must have your final transcript, which reflects your degree, submitted to LSAC prior to enrolling.' No date is attached. DEGREE TIMING: 'Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree prior to law school enrollment' — before enrolling, not before applying. No minimum GPA is published. FOREIGN-EDUCATED APPLICANTS: 'Foreign transcripts must be submitted through the LSAC Credential Assembly Service. If you completed more than one year of postsecondary work outside the US (including its territories) or Canada, you must use the service for the evaluation of your foreign transcripts' — note the one-year threshold, which is more generous than the blanket rule most schools state. AACRAO performs the evaluation. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY is doubly conditional: 'Applicants whose native language is not English, and show undergraduate education is from outside the US, are required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score' — both conditions must hold, so a non-native speaker educated in the United States is exempt. No minimum TOEFL score is published and no IELTS alternative is offered.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Nov 16, 2026
Notes & source
BOTH TESTS ACCEPTED, BUT THE CHOICE IS MADE BEFORE YOU SIT — Mercer's GRE rule is the strictest version of this in the data set, and it is a rule about registration rather than reporting: 'Applicants who would like to be considered based on their GRE scores should not register or sit for the LSAT.' Taking the LSAT at all forecloses the GRE route here. The rest: 'Applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)... Applicants who elect to take the GRE instead of the LSAT must instruct the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send Mercer Law School all GRE test scores from the prior five-year period. Log into ETS and select Mercer University School of Law as a recipient of GRE results (ETS code: 4809).' A THREE-YEAR LSAT WINDOW, which is shorter than the five years most schools allow and shorter than LSAC's own reporting period: 'Mercer Law School accepts LSAT test scores for up to 3 years.' An applicant with a four-year-old LSAT is out of date at Mercer while still current elsewhere. Note the asymmetry — three years for the LSAT, five for the GRE. LSAT WRITING IS A GATE: 'We must receive your LSAT score and writing sample before reviewing your file.' TIMING: 'Although we will accept the June LSAT, we encourage all students to take one of the earlier exams so your application is completed in a timely manner.' No multiple-score policy (highest versus average) is published. Mercer's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report shows the mix: 150 LSAT admissions enrollees against 2 GRE enrollees out of 152 first-years, the GRE cohort far below the ABA's 10-test-taker floor so no GRE percentiles are published. No JD Next row appears and the site never mentions JD Next.

- Application feeOptionalat submission
Notes & source
NOTHING TO PAY: 'All applicants must submit an application (no fee) electronically through LSAC.' Mercer's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report independently lists the application fee as 0. Recorded as required: false because there is nothing to pay and no waiver process to apply for. LSAC's own Credential Assembly Service fee is separate and is mentioned only in passing, in the foreign-credential paragraph: 'This service is included in the Credential Assembly Service fee.'

- InterviewOptionalat submission
Notes & source
Recorded as the site's silence, not as a statement that Mercer does not interview. No Mercer Law admissions page fetched on 2026-08-18 — the admissions overview, the apply-now page with its item-by-item requirements list, the JD admissions page, or the consumer-information page — contains the word interview in an admissions sense. The requirements list enumerates seven components of an application and no interview appears among them. The school offers campus visits and an admissions team to 'get all your law school questions answered as you work through the application process', neither described as part of the evaluation.
