What it costs, how graduates fare
- Bar passageclass of 2025
94.2%first-time+10.4
83.8% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 114 of 121 first-time takers passed
98.9% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
115 of 126 (91.3%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 6 more in JD-advantage jobs · 3 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
4.0% of the first-year class · 5 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$70,180 median one year after finishing · $94,898 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Titled 'Optional Addendum,' the third of three optional statements. No length limit is published. Separately, the application's Character & Fitness questions require full disclosure of any character and fitness issues, including juvenile offenses, and candidates with such issues 'must include the charge filed against them, the adjudication and a short description of events.' - Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredat submission
Notes & source
Applicants must register with the LSAC Credential Assembly Service and have 'Official transcripts of all collegiate, graduate and professional study' sent directly to CAS. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is required prior to entering law school. Per the admissions FAQ, students participating in the LEAD program at the University of Kansas, Kansas State University and Wichita State University are the only candidates exempt from using CAS. Per the Next Steps page, LSAC must receive an admitted student's final transcript by August 20; the Dates & Deadlines page gives August 19, 2026 for final transcripts in the 2025-26 cycle, and the two pages are not reconciled on the site.

- LSAT or GRERequiredat submission
Notes & source
Either exam is accepted: 'all candidates must take either the LSAT or GRE exam. The law school does not have a preference for either exam, although most applicants apply using the LSAT exam.' All LSAT and GRE scores from the past five years must be included; KU considers LSAT scores up to five years old. For applicants who have taken both, 'the LSAT score will be the primary score used for evaluation.' Multiple GRE scores are treated as a superscore of the highest score for each section. LSAT scores arrive automatically through CAS. The GRE score-report code is stated inconsistently on the site and is recorded here unresolved: the apply page's Admission Requirements list says 'The ETS Code for KU Law is 3999' and the admissions FAQ likewise says 3999, while the GRE Test Policy section further down that same apply page says to designate 'KU Law (6871).' Applicants may submit an application before taking the LSAT and must notify the Admissions Office of any planned or cancelled future sitting. The FAQ adds that GRE submissions require extra application-review time. Neither page mentions JD-Next, and the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report shows all 122 first-year enrollees admitted on the LSAT.

Military, Teach for America and Peace Corps waivers are requested by email to admitlaw@ku.edu.
