What it costs, how graduates fare
- Bar passageclass of 2025
71.2%first-time−8.2
79.4% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 79 of 111 first-time takers passed
86.4% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
95 of 113 (84.1%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 5 more in JD-advantage jobs · 4 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
4.0% of the first-year class · 5 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

Not a starting salary.
$65,179 median one year after finishing · $86,665 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays
- Personal statementRequired · 2 pgstart by Oct 11, 2026
Your personal statement should be about you. It is helpful for the Committee to know what inspired you to go to law school or why you want to become a lawyer. Statements about law in general or law and society are not useful to letting the Committee know you. The statement should illustrate the life experiences and talents that make you unique. You are invited to write about significant obstacles that you have overcome and events in your life that influence your perspective.
Notes & source
'The personal statement should be no more than two double-spaced, typed pages.' The page frames the requirement first: 'One of the goals of the Admissions Committee when making decisions is to admit a diverse student body that will contribute to a dynamic, interesting learning environment. Although academic background and strength of performance (LSAT and UGPA) are important, they are not the only criteria evaluated in the application process. For this reason, a personal statement, written by you, is required as part of the application.' Transfer applicants instead 'include a personal statement indicating your reasons for wanting to transfer to Creighton.' The page says nothing about font size, margins, or generative AI.

- AddendumOptional · 1 pgstart by Oct 29, 2026
Supplemental statements (optional). Some students may wish to address deficiencies in their academic history or performance on standardized tests. This should be done in separate addenda, and should not exceed one double-spaced, typed page.
Notes & source
Creighton calls these 'Supplemental statements'; the one-page cap is per addendum ('separate addenda'). A second, mandatory-when-triggered addendum is listed separately as 'Detailed explanations to affirmative answers to any Character & Fitness questions': 'If an applicant answers "yes" to any question in the character and fitness section, they must provide an attachment explaining that response and providing full details about their actions and the charges or sanctions against them. For any charges that must be reported, an applicant must include the original charge, indicate the level of felony or misdemeanor, final disposition of case (including level of charge in negotiated plea and sentencing).' No length limit is published for the character-and-fitness attachment. Applicants also carry a continuing duty to report violations after matriculating. Applicants whose file is placed on hold may — but need not — send 'An addendum highlighting awards, activities and/or work experience achieved since you first submitted your application', along with additional letters of recommendation and a statement of continued interest, by email or hard copy.

- Optional essayOptional · 250 wschool-specificstart by Oct 25, 2026
Select applicants will be requested to submit a 250-word essay on servant leadership and offered an interview for the program.
Notes & source
By invitation only, and tied to the Creighton Law Dean's Fellows Program rather than to admission itself. Applicants opt in by 'checking the box on our law school application under the "Term" section'; only 'select applicants' are then asked for the essay. 'The priority deadline to apply to the Dean's Fellows Program is February 15.' Interviews for the program 'will be conducted between January and March 1', and a selected Fellow 'must accept the offer by April 1.' The parallel Creighton Scholars Program (full tuition and fees for three years) uses the same application checkbox and an interview but publishes no essay requirement; applicants may apply to both programs 'but will only be admitted into one program.' No optional essay of any kind is required or invited for ordinary JD admission — the requirements list carries only the personal statement, the resume, and the optional supplemental statements.

Letters & documents
- Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Oct 4, 2026
Notes & source
'Each applicant must submit at least two, but no more than three, letters of recommendation.' What the school looks for: 'Letters of recommendation evaluate the applicant's prospect for success in law school and in the legal profession. The most helpful letters of recommendation are those that address the applicant's academic background, analytical abilities, communication skills and strength of character.' Submission: 'To ensure letters of recommendation are considered during the application review process, submit them directly to LSAC for inclusion in the applicant's Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report. They should be on file with LSAC when the application is submitted.' Transfer applicants submit two letters 'ideally through the Credential Assembly Service. Note: these letters should be current, not the same letters used to apply to law school initially. Preferably, at least one of these letters would come from a current law school professor.' Applicants whose file is on hold may send additional letters.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Oct 11, 2026
Notes & source
'A Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report with all official transcripts must be submitted for all post-secondary education. The CAS report must be from the current application year.' Degree timing: 'In order to matriculate with us, you will need your bachelor's degree prior to the start of classes.' International applicants 'follow the same process as applicants in the United States' and must run foreign transcripts through the LSAC JD Credential Assembly Service if any post-secondary work was completed outside the U.S. (including its territories) or Canada — the exception being study-abroad, consortium, or exchange work sponsored by a U.S. or Canadian institution and clearly indicated as such on the home campus transcript. AACRAO completes the Foreign Credential Evaluation, which is incorporated into the LSDAS law school report. English proficiency: applicants with an undergraduate degree from an institution outside the U.S. must take the TOEFL and have ETS send the score to LSAC (CAS institution code 8395); 'Applicants should have a minimum TOEFL score of 100, or a 7.0 on IELTS.' Admitted students must also request final undergraduate transcripts by August 22 because 'Creighton is still required by the American Bar Association to keep on file an official, undergraduate' transcript (creighton.edu/admissions/admitted-students/admitted-graduate-students).

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Sep 2, 2026
Notes & source
LSAT, with JD-Next accepted alongside it; the GRE is never mentioned anywhere on Creighton's JD admissions pages, and that is recorded here as the page's silence, not as a refusal. The JD page states flatly: 'The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is required of all applicants... You are advised to take the examination the year before you expect to enter law school. Accelerated JD applicants must take the LSAT by March. LSAC no longer reports scores older than five years plus the current testing year either to law schools or to candidates.' Early Admission applicants 'Take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) no later than September.' JD-Next: the JD page does not mention it, but the school's 2025 School of Law brochure (creighton.edu/sites/default/files/SOL-Brochure-2025.pdf) lists 'LSAT score or JD-Next results' among the documents that complete an application and states 'We also accept the JD-Next exam.' Creighton's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report corroborates this with a JD-NEXT row (7 first-year enrollees), which only schools holding a Standard 503 variance may report. The brochure's test-timing guidance differs slightly from the JD page's: 'Take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) no later than February of the entering year for Accelerated JD applicants and April for traditional applicants. (Later tests will be considered, when possible.)' No minimum score is published for general admission; the separate Pre-Professional Law Scholars guaranteed-admission pathway for Creighton undergraduates requires 'a minimum score of 153' and a 3.25 Creighton GPA, which is a pathway condition and not a general admissions floor.

- Application feeRequiredat submission
Notes & source
$50, submitted through LSAC with the application: 'Submit your complete application and $50 application fee* by March 31 to LSAC, for scholarship consideration'; 'Documents and application fees should be submitted through LSAC.' The same $50 appears in the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report. Waivers exist but no eligibility criteria are published: the footnote reads only 'You can also apply for an application fee waiver', linking to a Creighton Law Application Fee Waiver Request form at choose.creighton.edu/register/?id=2f40d511-1aca-44c8-9a5b-f3f698263e10. The pages do not say whether an LSAC fee waiver is honored automatically.

- InterviewOptionalat submission
Notes & source
Invite-only, and only for the two honors/scholarship programs — not part of ordinary JD admission. Creighton Scholars Program: 'Select applicants will be offered an interview for the program.' Creighton Law Dean's Fellows Program: 'Select applicants will be requested to submit a 250-word essay on servant leadership and offered an interview for the program. Interviews will be conducted between January and March 1.' Applicants opt into either by checking a box on the LSAC application under the 'Term' section. Neither page says whether the interview is live or recorded, or who conducts it. The JD program page's admissions requirements and its 'Admissions Decisions' section never mention an interview for general admission — recorded as silence, not as a statement that Creighton does not interview. Note that accepting a Creighton Scholars Program offer is itself binding on the applicant: 'If invited and an applicant accepts the offer to be in the Creighton Scholars Program, the program becomes binding, and the applicant must immediately withdraw all other applications to other schools (and agrees not to initiate any new applications). Once invited to become a scholar, a candidate has 10 business days to decide.' That commitment attaches to the scholarship offer, not to the application, so it is not recorded as an early_decision deadline.
