What it costs, how graduates fare

Tuition2025-26

$64,600 full-time · plus $952 annual fees

Living expenses $32,008 on campus

Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

Bar passageclass of 2025

77.5%first-time−1.4

78.9% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 110 of 142 first-time takers passed

89.6% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating

A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

Employmentclass of 2025

107 of 142 (75.4%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission

Ten months after graduation · 8 more in JD-advantage jobs · 5 still seeking · 1 of the bar-admission jobs are funded by the school

The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

First-year attrition2024-25

3.0% of the first-year class · 4 students

No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

EarningsCollege Scorecard

Not a starting salary.

$70,183 median one year after finishing · $105,964 after four

$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential

A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

Essays

  • Personal statementRequiredstart by Nov 9, 2026
    Notes & source

Listed among the materials required to complete an application ('Personal statement'). The page publishes no prompt, no topic guidance, and no page, word, or formatting limit for the personal statement, and no other page in the school's JD admissions section (apply, deadlines, class profile, tuition and aid, transfer, visit) carries one — recorded here as the site's silence, not as an absence of requirements. Applicants would need to contact lawadmissions@case.edu for specifications.

  • AddendumOptionalstart by Nov 27, 2026
    Notes & source

The page does not use the word 'addendum' and describes no optional explanatory essays (no GPA, test-score, or gap addendum is invited). What it does require is character-and-fitness disclosure inside the application itself, under 'Standard of Truthfulness and Full Disclosure': applicants must disclose 'Any criminal proceedings (including juvenile, dismissed, expunged or sealed cases)' and 'Any disciplinary or administrative actions (academic, employment, licensing, military, etc.), whether formal or informal.' Recorded as not-required because it only produces written work for applicants with something to disclose; the disclosure obligation itself is mandatory and continuing. 'Failure to disclose information, provide truthful answers, or inform the admissions office of any changes to your answers—particularly in the character and fitness section—may be more serious than the act or event itself and can result in revoked admission, disciplinary action, or denial of permission to practice law.' The school invites applicants unsure whether a matter must be disclosed to contact lawadmissions@case.edu.

  • Letter of recommendation (1 of 2)Requiredstart by Nov 2, 2026
    Notes & source

'Two letters of recommendation' are listed among the materials required to complete an application, and reach the school through LSAC's Credential Assembly Service: registering with CAS 'provides us with your letters of recommendation and the CAS analysis of your undergraduate and graduate school transcripts.' The page does not state a maximum number accepted, and does not say whether recommenders should be academic or professional.

  • Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Nov 9, 2026
    Notes & source

All applicants must register with LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS code: 1105); a CAS report and the complete LSAC file are required for a complete application. A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required to enroll. After acceptance and before matriculation applicants must send one official transcript from the undergraduate degree-granting institution certifying receipt of the bachelor's degree and one from any graduate degree-granting institution, sent directly by the institution ('we will not accept a transcript directly from you'); electronic transcripts are accepted, and the CAS report must also be updated with the final transcript. 'Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in suspension or dismissal from the School of Law.' Postsecondary work completed outside the U.S. or Canada must go through LSAC's JD CAS for an AACRAO Foreign Credential Evaluation, except work done through a study abroad, consortium, or exchange program sponsored by a U.S. or Canadian institution and clearly indicated as such. Applicants whose undergraduate instruction was not in English must send a TOEFL score to LSAC (JD CAS code 8395); no minimum score is published.

  • LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Oct 1, 2026
    Notes & source

Three tests accepted: 'All first-year applicants are required to take one of the following assessments' — the LSAT (recommended 'the summer or fall before you apply'; LSAC automatically reports all scores from the past five years and 'there's no option to not report your score(s)'), the GRE (ETS school code 4812; scores valid five years, reported directly to the school, and ETS takes 14 days to transmit a score), or the JD-Next exam administered by Aspen. GRE and JD-Next scores must be received by the application deadline. Score policy: 'You must report all valid LSAT and GRE scores you have received. While all scores are considered, we place the greatest emphasis on your highest score.' The 3+3 accelerated program is the one exception to the test menu — per the deadlines page (case.edu/law/admissions/jd-admissions/apply-jd-program/jd-application-deadlines), 'A valid LSAT score is required to apply to the 3+3 program.' The page does not mention an LSAT Writing requirement.

Administrative

  • Application feeOptionalat submission
    Notes & source

Effectively no fee. 'All applications must be submitted through LSAC's electronic application service... If you submit your application electronically through LSAC, we will waive the application fee.' Since LSAC submission is the only route the page describes, the waiver reaches every applicant. The school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 report lists an application fee of $40, which is the unwaived amount; the apply page publishes no dollar figure.
