What it costs, how graduates fare
- Bar passageclass of 2025
93.7%first-time+11.0
82.7% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 104 of 111 first-time takers passed
97.9% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
105 of 110 (95.5%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 1 more in JD-advantage jobs · 0 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
2.0% of the first-year class · 5 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

- EarningsCollege Scorecard
Not a starting salary.
$85,368 median one year after finishing · $121,715 after four
$105,518 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

- Personal statementRequired · 3 pgstart by Nov 10, 2026
This is your opportunity to persuade the Admissions Committee that you should be admitted to Baylor Law. Through the personal statement, the Committee will try to get a sense of your character and will evaluate your writing ability. Any number of factors could be helpful to the Admissions Committee, including your motivation to study law; past work experience and future career objectives; evidence of academic achievement, leadership, and responsibility; community involvement; educational, social, and economic background; and any special skills or training, such as language skills, advocacy skills, or scientific or technical training. The Committee is particularly interested in learning about any aspect of your background that would allow you distinctively to enrich our community.
Notes & source
'Should be two to three pages in length, double-spaced, and in 12-point font' (page_limit records the upper bound). 'The personal statement must be your own work product, although others (e.g., your pre-law advisor) may review it and offer guidance. You may not use generative artificial intelligence to write your personal statement.' The page adds: 'The Admissions Committee places considerable importance on the personal statement.'

- Why this schoolOptional · 1 pgschool-specificstart by Nov 21, 2026
Interest in Baylor Law: You may submit an addendum that explains your specific interest in Baylor Law.
Notes & source
Baylor brands this as one of five optional addenda rather than a separate essay; typed why_x_essay because it is a 'why our school' prompt. Per the shared addenda rules: 'Each addendum should not exceed one page in length, in 12-point font, double-spaced, and it should not be used as an extension of your personal statement.' Per the admissions FAQs (law.baylor.edu/admissions/apply/admissions-faqs), an addendum may also be emailed to any member of the admissions team.

- Optional essayOptional · 1 pgschool-specificstart by Nov 24, 2026
Response to Mission Statement: You may submit an addendum in response to our mission statement (https://law.baylor.edu/why-baylor-law/about/mission-statement-and-core-values), discussing how your experiences and/or beliefs align with that mission statement.
Notes & source
Baylor brands this as one of five optional addenda; typed optional_essay because it is a school-specific reflective prompt rather than an explanatory addendum. Shared addenda rules: no more than one page, 12-point font, double-spaced, not an extension of the personal statement.

- Perspective statementOptional · 1 pgstart by Nov 17, 2026
Adversity: You may submit an addendum that describes instances in your life when you have overcome significant adversity. Relevant information may include, but is not limited to: financial hardship; educational adversity (including first-generation college status); physical, mental, or psychological differences; an unusual rural or urban upbringing; foreign residence; military background; or unique family and/or personal circumstances.
Notes & source
Baylor brands this as one of five optional addenda; typed perspective_statement because it plays the role of a perspective/background statement. A closely related 'Other Obligations' addendum (family responsibilities, parenting or caregiving, cultural or religious roles, or other off-resume activities during school or work) is recorded under the addendum entry. Shared addenda rules: no more than one page, 12-point font, double-spaced, not an extension of the personal statement. The admissions policies page (law.baylor.edu/admissions/apply/admissions-policies) says 'optional statements' are among the 'crucial elements' of holistic review.

- AddendumOptional · 1 pgstart by Nov 28, 2026
Notes & source
Remaining addenda options: 'Academic/LSAT Context: You may submit an addendum that discusses aspects of your academic background or LSAT performance that you believe are not otherwise clear from your application.' and 'Other Obligations: You may submit an addendum that discusses other family responsibilities, parenting or caregiving, cultural or religious roles or obligations, or other activities that may not appear on a resume but were taking place while you were in school or working.' Each addendum may not exceed one page, 12-point font, double-spaced. One addendum can become mandatory: an affirmative answer to any character and fitness question on the e-app requires an addendum explaining it. The FAQs also recommend an addendum for a large number of LSAT cancellations or a dramatic score change, and note addenda may be emailed to the admissions team.

Letters & documents
- Letter of recommendationRequiredstart by Nov 3, 2026
Notes & source
'We require one letter of recommendation but will accept up to three letters.' Letters must be submitted through the LSAC Letter of Recommendation Service. 'Letters from professors, employers, or other individuals who can attest to your ability to enter a rigorous, professional program are beneficial. A letter from someone who does not know you well is of no value and does not enhance your file.' Baylor 'cannot accommodate any requests to hold application files awaiting additional letters of recommendation.'

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Nov 10, 2026
Notes & source
Each applicant must register with the Credential Assembly Service; the CAS report is requested as soon as the application is submitted, and Baylor Law receives updated CAS reports. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. university (or foreign equivalent) must be earned, or will be earned within the first quarter of law school. All post-secondary transcripts should be included with the CAS report at application; official final transcripts from every institution attended are required before matriculation — for Fall starters all transcripts are due by October 15 (Spring/Summer starters: Monday of the fifth week of class), and absent an approved exception a student cannot enroll in the second quarter until all transcripts are received.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Oct 2, 2026
Notes & source
LSAT only — the admissions FAQs (law.baylor.edu/admissions/apply/admissions-faqs) state explicitly: 'We currently only accept the LSAT and do not accept the GRE or JD-Next.' No minimum score. Baylor accepts LSAT scores from the current and past five testing years (a testing year runs June-May) as long as the score is received by the application deadline; scores should be reported prior to the deadline for the quarter applied to. Scores are not averaged: the Committee sees all scores but reports and reviews the highest; an addendum is recommended for many cancellations or a dramatic score change. Baylor Law's LSAT code is 7165.

- InterviewRequiredat submission
Notes & source
Open, applicant-scheduled 20-minute interviews (in-person around the country or virtual via Zoom), offered mainly in Fall and Winter to current-cycle applicants, conducted by admissions leadership; may be scheduled before or after submitting the application, and a summary goes into the file. The interviews page states: 'Each applicant must participate in an interview prior to admission.' — recorded as required on that basis. Discrepancy note: the JD Applicants page (law.baylor.edu/admissions/apply/application-requirements/jd-applicants) describes the application as consisting of the CAS report, the e-app, 'and an optional interview,' so the interview appears optional at submission but required before an offer of admission. January-March slots for this cycle post in late October.

Notes & source
No fee: 'Baylor Law does not have an application fee.' Confirmed by the admissions FAQs ('Baylor Law does not charge an application fee.') and by the 2025 ABA Standard 509 report, which lists the application fee as 0.
