What it costs, how graduates fare
- Tuition2025-26
$42,000 full-time · plus $1,150 annual fees
$31,726 part-time
Tuition and the fees the school certifies alongside it — not a full cost of attendance.

- Bar passageclass of 2025
58.9%first-time−17.6
76.4% is the average for all ABA-accredited schools’ graduates in the same jurisdictions this school’s graduates sat in · 133 of 226 first-time takers passed
73.5% of the class of 2023 were admitted within two years of graduating
A pass rate on its own says as much about which states a school feeds as about the school, so the ABA’s own like-for-like average is shown with it.

- Employmentclass of 2025
150 of 235 (63.8%) in full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar admission
Ten months after graduation · 10 more in JD-advantage jobs · 24 still seeking
The ABA collects employment status and job type only. It collects no salary, so no salary figure comes from this filing.

- First-year attrition2024-25
7.0% of the first-year class · 22 students
No law school publishes a graduation rate, so this is not one. It is the students who left in their first year, academic and other, as filed. Transfers out are reported separately and are not counted here.

Not a starting salary.
$51,099 median one year after finishing · $82,024 after four
$107,773 is the national median at four years for the same credential
A College Scorecard median for 2017-18 and 2018-19 completers who received federal aid, measured a fixed number of years after they finished — not what this year’s graduates are being paid, and not a figure the school or the ABA publishes. The ABA collects no salary data at all.

- Personal statementRequiredstart by Apr 10, 2027
At Barry University School of Law, we value diversity and commitment to public service. Your personal statement may address diversity and a commitment to public service and/or your motivation to attend law school, any obstacles you have overcome, or your goals once your law degree has been awarded.
Notes & source
Required and attached to the application itself: 'The applicant must submit a personal statement with the electronic Application for Admission.' THE 600-1,200 WORD RANGE IS NOT RECORDED AS A LIMIT. The page says 'The personal statement should be 600 - 1,200 words.' Under docs/CURATION.md that is guidance, not a cap: it pairs the soft verb 'should' with a range rather than a ceiling phrase, which is the same shape as Belmont's 'should be a one or two-page essay' and Simmons's 'should be 2-3 pages', both of which that doc holds go unrecorded. It is quoted here instead, because 600 words is also a floor and an applicant needs both numbers. THE PROMPT IS A MENU, NOT A QUESTION -- four subjects offered with 'may address' and 'and/or', so none of them is compulsory -- and the first two are the school's own stated values rather than neutral topics: diversity and commitment to public service are named again as review criteria further down the same page, where the committee weighs 'leadership ability, commitment to public service, employment history, military service, background, diversity, and character and fitness history.' AN EXPLICIT PROHIBITION ON EXTRA MATERIAL, which is rare enough to be worth acting on: 'Please do not attach writing samples or other such material to your application.' Read alongside the resume line immediately after it, Barry is telling applicants the personal statement is the writing it wants and nothing else is invited. TRANSFER APPLICANTS GET A DIFFERENT SUBJECT ENTIRELY: 'Transfer students will address the reason for transferring as the subject of the personal statement.' NO WHY-BARRY QUESTION, no perspective statement and no optional essay is published, so those types are omitted rather than recorded as absent.

- AddendumOptionalstart by Apr 28, 2027
Notes & source
BARRY PUBLISHES NO GENERAL ADDENDUM SLOT, and in fact discourages unsolicited attachments: 'Please do not attach writing samples or other such material to your application.' What it does publish is a character-and-fitness warning, recorded here because the taxonomy in docs/DATA.md has no character-and-fitness type. The application itself carries the questions -- 'The online application must be complete (with all questions answered) and include supporting documentation, if applicable' -- and character and fitness history is named as one of the factors the committee weighs. The published warning is directed at the state bar rather than at the law school, and names the specific body: 'In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction... The Florida Board of Bar Examiners conducts a rigorous background investigation of all bar applicants to determine their character and fitness to practice law. You are strongly encouraged to consult with the relevant agencies about any incident(s) which may have a bearing on your eligibility for admission into a state bar.' Required is false: the obligation is conditional on the application's own questions, and Barry publishes neither the question set in advance nor a length limit for an explanation. Applicants carry the tracking burden themselves -- 'Applicants have the responsibility to ascertain that all materials have been received by the School of Law.'

- RésuméOptionalstart by Apr 24, 2027
Notes & source
A RESUME IS OPTIONAL AT BARRY, STATED IN ONE CLAUSE AND EASY TO MISS because it sits at the end of the personal-statement paragraph rather than in a list item of its own: 'You are encouraged, but not required, to attach a resume.' That is unusual -- most schools make the resume a required component -- and it is recorded as required false with the encouragement noted. No page limit, format or content guidance is published. Note the tension with the sentence directly before it: 'Please do not attach writing samples or other such material to your application.' The resume is carved out of that prohibition by name, so an applicant should read the two together rather than treating the prohibition as covering everything.

- LSAT or GRERequiredstart by Mar 2, 2027
Notes & source
LSAT ONLY: 'The applicant must take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). No LSAT score obtained by the applicant more than 5 years before applying will be accepted.' Note the validity window is measured from the date of application, not from enrollment -- a distinction that costs an applicant a season either way depending on the school. NO GRE AND NO JD-NEXT ROUTE: neither is mentioned anywhere on Barry's admissions pages, and the 2025 509 prints a single LSAT row covering all 258 first-years with no GRE or JD-Next row. Under docs/CURATION.md the site's silence is not itself a denial, but 'The applicant must take the LSAT' is affirmative and the filing shows no alternative route in use. THE SCHOOL EXPLAINS WHAT IT THINKS THE TEST IS FOR, in terms that also say what it is not: 'The LSAT is designed to measure some of the mental and academic abilities that are needed for successful law study. Within limits, it provides a reasonable assessment of these factors. Similarly, undergraduate grades are a significant indicator of potential success in law school. In addition to being one measure of academic ability, a strong scholastic record may indicate the level of a student's perseverance, motivation, and maturity.' NO MINIMUM SCORE is published; the admission standard is stated qualitatively instead -- 'Applicants will be accepted for admission to the School of Law if they are of good character and have LSAT scores and GPAs which indicate a likelihood for academic success.' No policy on multiple scores appears anywhere, neither a highest-score rule nor an averaging rule, which is a genuine gap. Registration details are given the old-fashioned way, with LSAC's postal address and phone number rather than a link.

- Transcripts via LSAC CASRequiredstart by Apr 10, 2027
Notes & source
A DEGREE FROM A DEPARTMENT-OF-EDUCATION-RECOGNISED INSTITUTION IS THE THRESHOLD: 'An applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by an agency approved by the Department of Education.' CAS IS REQUIRED AND IS GATED ON THE LETTER: 'The applicant must register with the Credential Assembly Services (CAS) at www.lsac.org and submit official transcript(s) from each college or university attended. The applicant also is required to have 1 letter of recommendation included in the CAS report... CAS reports will not be sent until this information is received.' That last sentence is the operational point -- at Barry a missing recommendation does not merely leave a slot empty, it stops the CAS report reaching the school at all. Barry's LSAC school code is #5830. THE DEGREE-CONFERRING TRANSCRIPT IS A POST-ADMISSION CONDITION with a hard cutoff: 'Have your final transcript conferring your Bachelor's degree sent to Barry University School of Law. The transcript may be forwarded to LSAC for inclusion in the CAS, via Parchment, or directly to the law school by mail. The transcript is required before the first day of classes.' INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: transcripts go 'to LSAC through CAS for evaluation', and 'A minimum educational equivalency of a bachelor's degree must be met for eligibility.' TOEFL is required of a defined group -- 'International students whose native language is not English and who did not receive a bachelor's degree from an undergraduate institution within the United States' -- at 'Minimum scores of 100 on the Internet-based and 600 on the paper-based TOEFL test'. No IELTS or Duolingo alternative is offered, and no waiver process is described.

- Letter of recommendationRequiredstart by Apr 3, 2027
Notes & source
ONE LETTER, DELIVERED THROUGH CAS, AND IT GATES THE WHOLE FILE: 'The applicant also is required to have 1 letter of recommendation included in the CAS report... CAS reports will not be sent until this information is received.' Most schools treat a missing letter as an incomplete component; Barry's CAS report will not move without it, which makes the single letter a bottleneck rather than a line item. THE LIST OF ACCEPTABLE AUTHORS IS BROAD AND EXPRESSLY OPEN-ENDED: 'The letter may be written by a faculty advisor, instructor, employer, commanding officer, or other person who can recommend the applicant on the basis of aptitude for the study of law.' Naming a commanding officer is a deliberate signal -- military service is one of the factors the committee lists in its holistic review. No maximum number of letters is published, so no count_accepted is recorded, and no category of recommender is ruled out.

- Application feeOptionalat submission
Notes & source
NO APPLICATION FEE. Barry's own admissions pages never mention one in either direction, and the school's 2025 ABA Standard 509 certifies 'Application fee 0', so the filing is the source and is cited as such. No waiver process is published, which follows from there being nothing to waive; LSAC's own CAS and report fees are separate and Barry does not address them. THE FIRST MONEY IS THE SEAT DEPOSIT: 'Upon admission, all students must pay a non-refundable $200 deposit to hold their seat. This deposit will be credited toward tuition', and the school ties financial aid to it -- 'Submitting your deposit secures your spot and locks in your financial award. Financial award paperwork cannot be processed without a deposit on file.' A further cost appears on the published cost of attendance rather than at application: '1L Students: $100 for the cost of applying for the Bar Application.'
